Coming out of this week's Comic-Con is the rumor that Marvel staple, John Romita Jr., is being offered Superman by DC Comics.

Bleeding Cool reports that numerous insiders have come up to them at the Con and said that Romita's contract is up soon with Marvel and he may be looking for greener pastures with DC.

It's reported that DC has offered John Romita Jr. both the writing gig and art chores on Superman.

JRJR has only worked for Marvel, and an occasional Image title, so moving to DC would be pretty big.

It's noted, however, that with Romita's "contract concerns" this could be a negotiating tactic with Marvel.

Currently, Scott Lobdell is writing issues of Superman solicited through October's #24.

Romita Jr. is known for drawing The Avengers, Captain America and co-creating Kick-Ass.
