John Romita Jr. Exits Avengers; The Hammer War Announced

Body

picMarvel held a "Next Big Thing: Avengers" conference call earlier with Marvel VP Tom Brevoort and Brian Michael Bendis in regards to the direction the two Avengers books will take.

It is being dubbed "The Hammer War," and sees the return of Norman Osborn, in addition to the cast for the Avengers getting a change.

That's not all, as Avengers artist John Romita Jr. will exit the book with Daniel Acuna coming onboard.

It wasn't stated what JRJR will be doing next, just "other projects."

Deodato will be doing New Avengers.

This all begins in Avengers 16.1; in addition, the New Avengers will be taking on "The Revengers" (no, not DnA's, I gather) a team led by Wonder Man.

Head on over to CBR for more.
