John C. Reilly As Rhomann Dey In Guardians of the Galaxy Movie?
A new batch of Marvel Studios rumors has landed online this time pertaining to the James Gunn written and directed Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
HitFix posted a bunch of rumors that seem rather out there, but at least they include the Nova Corps and Richard Rider.
There is also mention made of John C. Reilly being offered the part of Rhomann Dey - Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Yep, you read that right.
It's said he would be the "Agent Coulson" of the Guardians - and human, too.
While it sounds highly unlikely, remember what they did with the Mandarin.
Anyway, some of the other rumors mention that Captain America 2 writers are coming onboard to polish Nicole Perlman and Chris McCoy's script.
It's my understanding that Perlman did an earlier first script, McCoy then did his, and then when James Gunn came on board he rewrote the script to his own liking.
So having Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely rewrite the script with less than a month to go to shooting starts seems a stretch, and with no mention of Gunn as well...
It's also stated that Lee Pace will be playing a villain - as we already heard - but that he will switch sides and get his own spin-off movie.
Mention of Nova Richard Rider is made, which makes no sense, but Adam Warlock or Mar-vell would be a better fit, who are both mentioned.
Michael Rooker is stated to be playing Yondu - another bad guy - who is akin to a space pirate. That looks to be the sixth villain rumored for the movie, but it's said he will be the villain at the start of the film.
Groot will come to Earth to experiment on humans with Nick Fury convincing him to fight for us.
Most of the other stuff comes straight out of the comics or what we already heard; Wal Rus gets a mention as well.
It's also said Hugh Laurie, Alan Rickman, and Ken Watanabe are up for a part in the movie as Rhomann Dey's peer.
