Recently, Star Trek Into Darkness director J.J. Abrams was named to direct Star Wars Episode VII.

There's always been a "Star Trek vs. Star Wars" debate amongst the fans, and now William Shatner is getting on on it.

In the following video, William Shatner calls Abrams a pig for taking on both the franchises.

While it might actually have something to do with the fact that Abrams hasn't cast Shatner in either - as they are friends - the first Captain Kirk voices his opinions nonetheless.

"No, he's being a pig," Shatner tells Movie Fantasic. "He's collecting the two franchises and holding them close to his vest. He's probably the most talented director of that ilk that we have, but he's gone too far this time."

See below for more.

Back in September of 2011, Shatner also shared his thoughts on the "Star Trek vs Star Wars" debate as well.
