J.J. Abrams May Push Back Star Wars Episode VII Release Date
With J.J. Abrams being announced as the director of the new Star Wars Episode VII movie, which Disney wants out in 2015, it became immediately apparent that the director would have to get moving on the project.
That's not Abrams only project, though, as he has Star Trek Into Darkness coming out this May as well is attached to a bunch of TV shows.
It's been previously said that J.J. Abrams is also attached in some capacity on the next Mission Impossible as well as Star Trek 3, so he's got a lot on his table.
THR reports what we've heard, that Abrams will be on as producer on both MI and Star Trek 3, but they also include mention that sources have told them he is not holding to that 2015 release date for Star Wars Episode VII.
Episode VII is set for release in 2015, but sources say Abrams has not committed to that release date, meaning the date could be changed if the development process requires it.
So with that news we can take that J.J. Abrams won't be rushed into pushing out the next Star Wars movie and can take his time.
Michael Arndt has written the script for Star Wars Episode VII.
No details on the plot are known except for rumors suggesting a female Jedi in the lead role.
