Earlier it was said that Jamie Foxx will be playing Electro in the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" with the actor even teasing that he "dressed up as Electro for Halloween."

Nothing official has been announced from Sony, but Foxx does offer an update.

Jaimie Foxx tells AccessHollywood at the recent GQ Man of The Year event that his daughter will go crazy about the news and says that he's keeping his fingers crossed as things are "still in the works."

"I have a little daughter, 4 years old, and what’s crazy is like, this past year she had a birthday where Spider-Man was the theme,” Foxx told Access Hollywood. “Fingers crossed [that] it all works out.”

He says she'll be really excited when he can finally tell her the news.

“I haven’t sprung it on her yet, but she will go crazy!” he said.

Electro has long since been thought to play some part in the "Amazing Spider-Man 2" as the post-credit scene to the Amazing Spider-Man movie featured a mysterious figure seemingly arriving and departing with the flash of lightning. Whether or not that was Electro remains to be seen.

The "Amazing Spider-Man 2" swings into theaters May 2nd, 2014 directed by Marc Webb starring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone and Shailene Woodley.
