James Gunn, himself no stranger to controversy, has taken to his Facebook to offer up an explanation as to the "sex crime" scene in the recent Guardians of the Galaxy footage.

The footage reveals Star-Lord captured by the Nova Corps where his criminal record displays: 1 Count Sex Crime:"Illegal Manipulation Of Gramosian Duchess."

Apparently that has struck a nerve with some viewers which caused Gunn to offer the following:

I'm getting a lot of questions about Peter Quill's "sex crime" as listed on his rap sheet in the trailer - "illegal manipulation of a Gramosian Duchess." Just to explain, Quill was seduced by the Duchess and, as anyone who has been to Gramos knows, it's illegal for regular folk to be intimate with royalty there. So there you go.
