Iron Man 3 Doing Re-shoots; Finale Bigger & Badder Says Don Cheadle
We are less than four months until the premiere of Shane Black's Iron Man 3, and we learn they are doing a week of re-shoots in Manhattan Beach, California.
Don Cheadle, who plays best friend to Tony Stark, James "Rhodey" Rhodes, recently spoke to the Collider and gave an update on the movie.
In addition to mention of the re-shoots, Cheadle says that compared to the previous films, the end to Iron Man 3 will be bigger as well as badder, while teasing about his character's relationship with Stark.
I’m not supposed to say that he kills Robert Downey Jr.’s character. Is that a spoiler? That would be a spoiler. You knew that was coming. You read the comic books. No. I will just say that the buddy relationship that these guys have gets tighter. The third act set piece for the big finale is bigger and badder. It’s just a lot more.
Cheadle is also asked about donning his new armor, the red, white and blue Iron Patriot suit, but deflects the question. Is it still possible that Cheadle is not Iron Patriot, as it was first assumed that it was James Badge Dale in the armor?
Oh, I’ll let you react to that when you see it.
Regarding the reshoots, Don Cheadle lets it be known that he hopes the movie performs to the levels of all the anticipation and mentions how good the script is as well.
I hope that it performs to those levels. We did a little piece of it at Comic-Con and people went crazy. It looked great. The script is good. We’re doing a couple re-shoots next week [in Manhattan Beach], but I’m encouraged.
Iron Man 3 blasts off May 3rd, 2013 directed by Shane Black and also Gwyneth Paltrow, Ben Kingsley and Guy Pierce.
