Hulk in The Avengers (2012) Gets Re-Designed and is Mark Ruffalo
MTV informs us that the Hulk appearing in Joss Whedon's The Avengers will get a re-design to look closer to the actor portraying the Green Goliath - Mark Ruffalo.
Yes! Mark Ruffalo will be playing the part of both Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk!
"All the features are mine, just really big. I got to see the maquette of the Hulk yesterday in full scope, and it's awesome," said Ruffalo.
MTV informs us that Ruffalo will be wearing "performance-capture suits" similar to the what the actors used for Avatar.
"I'll be playing it. I'm the first actor to actually do it in motion capture as the Hulk," Ruffalo continues.
Ruffalo talks even more on the motion capture with The Telegraph:
"There’s this algorithm that digitally puts 2,000lbs of muscle onto my body. It’s weird. I wear this skinny little suit with reflective balls all over it,” he says. “When we shot the stuff, I was actually standing in a warehouse with a couple of cardboard boxes and some foam mats. But when I looked at the monitor there I was as the Hulk in this landscape with cars and boulders and hills.”
Ruffalo informs The Telegraph on his inspiration to channel the anger that is associated with being the Hulk when he was put on the US Terrorist Advisory List after doing a documentary on "gas drilling in New York state that had attracted the attention of the Department of Homeland Security":
“Somehow this story came out about my being on this terrorist list. Fox News picked it up and bundled it together with my brother’s murder to make it sound as ominous as possible. Then every news organisation in the country ran it without bothering to check if it was true. It wasn’t until The Washington Times finally nailed the story that it went away.”
Ruffalo also commented on the script to MTV with, "It's cool. It's gonna be great," he enthused. "The script is a nice combination of funny with pathos."
It is rumored that the Hulk may be battling Thor, Captain America, Iron Man and the rest of the Avengers, perhaps under the spell of the diabolical trickster Loki!
The Avengers is set to assemble in theaters May 4th 2012 starring Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, and Samuel L. Jackson.
