Henry Cavill Interview on Superman: Man of Steel (2012)
The new issue of Entertainment Weekly spotlights all the recent super hero movie that are upcoming including: Thor, Green Lantern, Captain America: First Avenger, X-Men: First Class, Amazing Spider-Man and The Dark Knight Rises.
Of course, let's not forget the new Zack Snyder directed - Superman!
EW has an exclusive interview with the Man of Steel himself, Henry Cavill.
They discussed Cavill's audition where he wore a replica of the Christopher Reeve costume. Snyder said, “If you can put on that suit and pull it off, that’s an awesome achievement.”
Apparently, right before Cavill had the screen test, he just finished with The Cold Light of Day - a part which required him to lose all the muscle he had put on for Immortals (head on over here to check out a pic of Henry in Immortals!).
On donning the super suit minus the muscle Cavill said, "All I could think was: Oh, god. They’re going to look at me and go ‘He’s not Superman. Not a chance.’ The actor inside me was going: You’re not ready! You’re not ready!” Snyder saw something — or rather someone — different. "
"He walked out, and no one laughed,” says the director. “Other actors put that suit on, and it’s a joke, even if they’re great actors. Henry put it on, and he exuded this kind of crazy-calm confidence that just made me go ‘Wow.’ Okay: This was Superman.’”
The new issue of EW is currently on sale and the new Superman directed by Zack Snyder and starring Hnery Cavill is slated for a December 2012 release.
