Zoe Saldana, currently set to star this Summer in the Marvel Studios Guardians of the Galaxy movie, has been named as the lead in the NBC Rosemary's Baby TV mini-series.

Saldana will play Rosemary, the wife and expectant mother who becomes pregnant with what could be the Devil's child.

Rosemary's Baby is due out in December based on the 1967 original novel of the same name; however, the NBC mini-series will see it set in Paris, not NYC.

1968 saw the classic Roman Polanski movie as well.

"Zoe has proven that she is one of our most gifted actresses and we think she has the perfect combination of spirit and gravitas to take on the title role from Ira Levin’s infamous novel,” Quinn Taylor, Executive Vice President, Movies, Miniseries and International Co-Productions, NBC Entertainment stated (via Variety). “With Zoe leading the cast under the direction of Agnieszka Holland, this reimagined event mini-series is off to a great start.
