We've heard from just about every high-profile director you can name regarding the Disney acquisition of Star Wars, how about from one up-and-coming?

James Gunn, the recently announced director of the Guardians of the Galaxy movie, as well as the cult favorites Slither and Super (now on Netflix), offered up his own thoughts about Star Wars on Twitter.

So excited for the new Star Wars films! First up, three Jar Jar movies, taking us through 2019, and then the Dash Rendar trilogy! Whoo hoo!

The good news is Star Wars is coming back! :) The bad news is, because of studio budget cuts, they're all gonna be found footage films. :(

We're sure that James Gunn is just having a little fun, as he does now work for Disney, Marvel Studios' parent company, but perhaps Gunn is more in favor of the originals and keeping them that way.

There is also a new Ridley Scott Blade Runner movie in the works, and with that Gunn offers the following.

Can’t wait for Ridley Scott’s new version of Blade Runner, the Director’s Laugh Track Cut.

The Guardians of the Galaxy movie has an August 1, 2014 release date and is directed by James Gunn.
