Guardians of the Galaxy Iron Man Armor Debuts In Iron Man #5 (Preview)

Iron Man is set to blast through the spaceways and bring the Guardians of the Galaxy down to earth with Brian Michael Bendis, and now Marvel has released a preview for Iron Man #5 which sees the debut of the new space armor.

It will be interesting to just see how many issues Bendis and McNiven's new Guardians of the Galaxy comic book goes to.

Marvel is obviously banking on Iron Man bringing in some Avengers fans, but since Iron Man is already in a half dozen or so books, is there really any incentive?

Speaking of incentives, we're expecting a lot of variants for just about every issue of the new Guardians of the Galaxy in order to keep the numbers up. Bendis was previously on the B-List title Moon Knight, which lasted only 12 issues. And previously, his Avengers Assemble saw the book fall from 6 digit numbers to 30,000 or so by the sixth issue. We wouldn't be surprised if Marvel gave away free copies to retailers, much the same way they did with the 2011 Point One book, in order "load the dice" and up the sales rankings on Diamond's charts. Surely, Disney must be taking notice with the movie and all.

Iron Man #5 hits January 2nd, 2013 from Kieron Gillen and Greg Land.
