Guardians of the Galaxy Is "The Biggest Movie Marvel Has Made" Says James Gunn

While we won't be getting a Super Bowl trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy this Sunday, at least director James Gunn offers some encouraging words in respect to the size of the movie.

Gunn tells Empire Magazine that it happens to be Marvel's biggest.

"Visually, [it's] the biggest movie Marvel has made, because of the big, big starscapes and big action sequences," he said. "Our characters are basically all villains to begin with. If The Avengers are The Beatles, the Guardians are The Rolling Stones."

"There's a lot of strange stuff in the movie," Gunn continues, "But I think the thing that makes it different from the rest of the other superhero movies out there is that they try and take something seriously that really can't be taken seriously because the concept is just too fun at its core."

"Guardians of the Galaxy" has an August 1, 2014 release in the U.S.
