Green Lantern: The Animated Series Officially Cancelled

Body

5298 We get an update on the earlier press release that saw no mention of Green Lantern: The Animated Series or Young Justice being a part of Cartoon Network's upcoming slate of programs.

Though Cartoon Network would not confirm to Cosmic Book News the cancelationsGreen Lantern: The Animated Series producer Giancarlo Volpe let it be known on Twitter that the show is done.

This time we knew. They just didn't want us to announce it publicly until they did.

Earlier this past Fall, both shows went on an unannounced hiatus after only two episodes. No official reason came out, but it's said the shows didn't do well with younger viewers as well as a toy line that didn't produce results. Fans immediately took to social networks to voice their concerns.

Now the fans are back as a petition has sprung up on Change.org requesting the return of both Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice.

Cartoon Network will be airing two new DC Nation animated shows with Teen Titans Go! this April and Beware The Batman this Summer, of which Cartoon Network told Cosmic Book News about the new Batman series that it "is amazing."
