Grant Gustin Talks The Flash For The First Time

Announced one week ago, Grant Gustin will be Barry Allen and The Flash in the popular DC Comics TV series Arrow before getting his own spinoff show.

EOnline caught up with the actor at a recent pre-Emmy party where he discussed the DC speedster.

Gustin didn't offer much other than he is excited, but states his character will not be The Flash at first, but will eventually be seen in the red costume.

I got an audition and I was really excited and a little skeptical at first, because I'm a comic book fan. I know the character and know I'm a little young.

I know I'm coming on as up-and-coming in my field. He's not going to be The Flash immediately, obviously.

I didn't realize before I started doing all my research that he can actually time travel, he can run so fast. I think that'd be a really fun thing to play with on the show is him kind of going to different times and experimenting with that. That'd be fun.

I would image, when The Flash comes he'll be in a pretty traditional Flash costume. That's kind of what I've caught wind of.

Grant Gustin will be appearing in episodes 8, 9 and 20 of Arrow, with the first episode looking likely to debut in December.

Season 2 of Arrow will also feature a heavy Batman element with the main antagonist being a member of the League Of Assassins.

Arrow Season 2 premiers Wednesday, October 9th at 8pm ET.
