Advance screenings were so good for Godzilla, that it even beat Amazing Spider-Man 2.

It's reported that Godzilla earned $9.3 million for its Thursday night advance screenings, stomping Amazing Spidey 2's $8.7 million from a couple of weeks ago (AZ2 went on to make $96 million for its opening as well).

Godzilla also had a good IMAX showing with $2.1 million.

If those numbers are any indication of how the weekend will go, it's speculated that Godzilla will perform better than its $65-75 million opening weekend estimates.

We also previously reported that online ticket seller Fandago said Godzilla ticket sales are better than Thor 2, World War Z and Pacific Rim.

Rotten Tomatoes currently has Godzilla at a 73% positive rating amongst critics and 82% of audiences liked it.
