Gene Colan Dies At 84

picLegendary comic book artist, Gene Colan, has died at the age of 84.

Colan passed late Thursday due to complications from liver disease and a broken hip, the AP reports.

Known for his work on Daredevil, Howard The Duck and an 80 issue run on Tomb Of Dracula, Colan also co-created the first African-American mainstream super hero, Falcon.

Colan continued working up until he was hopitalized, with the lead story in Captain America #601 from September 2009.
