Friday The 13th Reboot Might Not Have Jason

Body

12442 Back in November, Paramount set the release date for the Friday The 13th reboot for March 13, 2015, and now some possible details become known.

What can only bring back memories of a Halloween 3, producer Brad Fuller offers that the new Friday The 13th, speculated to be a found-footage flick, might not feature Jason Voorhees.

Via Crave Online:

I don’t know because I don’t know if we’re going to have Jason, I don’t know which Jason we’re going to have.

By stating that he doesn't know which Jason, that's because Friday The 13th was rebooted in 2009 with actor Derek Mears portraying the hockey-masked-killer. Fuller does offer if they use Jason again, Derek is their man.

I think if we’re going to go for a Jason Voorhees we would go with Derek. He’s our guy.

Fuller also gives an update on a new Nightmare On Elm Street movie offering he hasn't heard anything. Jackie Earle Haley, the new Freddy, is signed on for two more, but Fuller doesn't know the status of that contract.

Fuller also says it seems the direction regarding horror movies for New Line is to move away from the gory movies and more toward the paranormal genre like The Conjuring.
