It's learned that The Flash TV series will get a third DC Comics villain with Tony Woodward, aka Girder, who joins Weather Wizard and Captain Cold.

The actor playing Girder has yet to be announced, but TV Line has the character description for the series as: someone who used to bully young Barry in the schoolyard. Now, as a result of a twist of fate, Woodward is “a grinning lunkhead who loves destruction,” an “unstoppable force… who can transmute any part of his body into solid steel.”

The DC Comics character Girder worked in a steel planet, but was thrown into molten lava by his fellow workers after assaulting a female employee. The lava included experimental straps from Star Labs, which gave Girder his powers including turning his body into living metal and giving him enhanced strength. Girder's weakness? Rust.

It's stated Tony Woodward will be a recurring character in the Flash series.

Update: Greg Finley is playing Girder.

"The Flash" premiers Tuesday, October 7th at 8pm ET on the CW.

Synopsis:

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only "meta-human" who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion -- and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won't be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become...The Flash.
