We get a first look at the Jedi named Kana in Star Wars Rebels in the following video and image.

Freddie Prinze Jr. will be the voice of Kana who is described as a Jedi "cowboy."

Via USA Today:

He keeps his lightsaber under lock and key and brandishes a blaster instead to avoid the attention of the Empire, especially the Inquisitor (a Sith villain) and his Stormtroopers. But Kanan gets his Force-ful groove back with his crew on the spaceship The Ghost and fights back against the imperial menace.

"He's been forced to shove a massive part of his life under the bed, so to speak," Prinze says. "Is he living a lie? At a certain point, the lie kind of becomes the reality. And to suddenly be forced back into your Jedi ways, it'd be a bit of a challenge for him. And pretty awesome, too, when you can see what a Jedi can actually do.

Disney will kick Star Wars Rebels off with its own animated movie before the full series debuts.

In Star Wars Rebels, Darth Vader enlists The Inquisitor to hunt down the last of the Jedi Knights. The series takes place about 14 years after the events of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, a time in which the Emperor's rule is secure and the Empire is seeking to expand its power to Outer Rim territories. That leads Imperial forces to Lothal, a poor planet that initially welcomes the Empire on the promise of security and prosperity. It soon becomes obvious, however, that the Empire does not have Lothal's best interests at heart, as the Imperials exploit its people and begin recruiting young citizens to join TIE fighter and Stormtrooper academies, or to work in the Sienar Fleet Systems factory -- which builds TIE fighters -- in the planet's capital.
