First Look At CW's Count Vertigo In Arrow

The CW revealed a first look at The Count, played by Seth Gabel (Fringe), in their new hit show, Arrow.

The character is based on the DC Comics comic book character, Count Vertigo, with "Vertigo" dropped as it will become a name of a drug in the show.

Oliver Queen's sister gets hooked on the new drug, with Queen seeking out The Count for revenge in the January 30th episode.

TVGuide spoke to Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim who stated the following about the new character:

He's a very interesting character, and the way Seth performs him, he plays him with a lot of flair. The fun thing about The Count is he's actually a businessman. He's got a little bit of a sociopathic streak in him, for sure, but he sees himself as an entrepreneur, as creating not drugs, but art. He compares his drug to performing a social service and to a fine wine, so he has a very skewed view of what it is that he does. At the same time, we know that he's not only sociopathic, but he's very sadistic as well.

Arrow returns tonight at 8pm ET with "Burned."
