Farscape To Return? Cast & Crew Talk More On SyFy 20th Anniversary Special

Body

4630 Tonight saw the SyFy 20th Anniversary Special air which featured, in part, a look back at Farscape.

The series was popular amongst critics and fans alike, but apparently not enough to warrant a fifth season.

The cast and crew received word of the cancelation shortly prior to the last episode of the fourth season.

Actually, they all just assumed they were getting a fifth season.

So when word of the cancelation came down, the creators of the show included "to be continued" at the controversial end of the series finale, which they noted, SyFy could have cut out.

However, it wasn't.

Well, fans went ballistic over the cancelation, so much so, that a Farscape mini-series was ordered, "The Peacekeeper Wars," and funded by outside sources, to provide a decent ending to the story.

So is that the last we have seen of Farscape?

Well, the cast and crew hope not.

4629 "The Peacekeeper Wars allowed us to get this group to a good place where we could complete kind of the first cycle of Farscape," said Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon. "There has been a comic series [from BOOM! Studios] that we have done that has been very, very successful. There is always talk of rekindling the show in some incarnation, whether it's online or in features."

"I don't believe Farscape is done. I still don't," added co-producer Brian Henson.

"But I think there is a bigger audience out there for Farscape than we really know even to this day," Claudia Black offered, Aeryn Sun in the show.

Farscape aired from March 1999-March of 2003 also starring Ben Browder, Anthony Simcoe, Virgina Hey, and a popular ensemble of puppets from the Jim Henson Company.

Episodes of Farscape can be currently viewed on Netflix, and maybe one day, much like Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome, Farscape will return in some form as well.
