Exclusive: No Wonder Woman In Man of Steel (2013) Movie; Solely Focused On Superman

3403 I just had a chat with our DC Entertainment source about a few things, one of which is the rumor that Wonder Woman is to appear in the upcoming new Superman movie, the Man of Steel.

Now through this source, Cosmic Book News was the first to tell you that the Man of Steel would be spearheading a new DC shared movie universe, leading to the Justice League movie with the Batman reboot to follow some time in 2016.

Following our news, it hit the net (not through us) that Wonder Woman would be making some sort of appearance in the Man of Steel.

This sort of makes sense as currently in the DC Comics comic books, Superman and Wonder Woman are a couple, and we already know the Man of Steel execs have a hand in the comics (thanks to former Superman writer/artist George Perez).

I even threw it out there that new Superman Henry Cavill and - perhaps - Wonder Woman to be Gina Carano met on the Man of Steel set, which the internet exploded over.

So I questioned our source about the Wonder Woman rumor.

3404 The source tell us no Wonder Woman in the Man of Steel; that unless they shot additional footage or a post credits sequence "there is categorically no Wonder Woman in the Man of Steel. The film is solely focused on Superman and his development."

Regarding the last statement about solely focusing on Superman, the source says the Man of Steel is "a standalone film that will structure the tone and feel of the shared universe."

So as we have heard prior, the Man of Steel may indeed not feature any other Justice Leaguers, but just be a set-up with Henry Cavill starring in the Justice League movie, as we have previously been told.

Stay tuned to Cosmic Book News as more on the Man Of Steel develops.

Man Of Steel flies into theaters June 14th, 2013 directed by Zack Snyder starring, Henry Cavill as the Man of Steel, Diane Lane as Martha "Ma" Kent, Kevin Costner as Jonat han "Pa" Kent, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Michael Shannon as Zod, and Russel Crowe as Jor-El.
