Prior to Gal Gadot landing the role of Wonder Woman for Batman Vs. Superman, it's learned that Evangeline Lilly was up for the role once upon a time.

Evangeline Lilly, currently starring in The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug for Warner Bros., lets it be know she was in talks for Wonder Woman around the first season of Lost.

It's not exactly known what movie Evangeline Lilly was up for, but MTV speculates due to the time period possibly either Joss Whedon's Wonder Woman movie or even George Miller's defunct 2008 Justice League film.

MTV makes note in an interview with Lilly that her name has come up among fans regarding playing Wonder Woman, and if she feels that is flattering, with the actress letting the news be known.

"It was totally flattering. Wonder Woman was my favorite superhero as a little girl," Lilly said.  "And I actually went in and met on Wonder Woman at one point before the thing kind of fell apart. It's like no, it's not going to happen. That was early early - that was first season of Lost before I kind of went 'wait a minute, I don't know if I want to do this' [laughs]."

"I still love Wonder Woman and think she's amazing," she continued. "Would I want to jump into a franchise like that? I don't know. That's all speculation at this...but it is super flattering. It's crazy flattering."

It's interesting she starts to say it's all speculation when it wasn't remarked about her having a current role. Perhaps she is a contender for a part in one of the WB movies? With Wonder Woman out of the equation, which role would suit her? Superhero? Villain?
