ESPN Didn’t Like The Dark Knight Rises Football Scene: Here’s Why

People are not only having issues with Batman's mysterious re-appearance, Robin's psychic ability and Bane's death, among a gazillion other things wrong with The Dark Knight Rises - wait, don't forget Matthew Modine - but now even football fans are offering their issues.

ESPN wrote an article nitpicking the Gotham Rogues football scene.

While in the comments ESPN states it's all sarcasm, we think they are just covering to appease all the crazy Bat fans that are commenting.

We get 'em here, too, ESPN.

Among some of what they found:

”¢  Stadium security (as in none)

”¢  Crowd size (not sold out?!)

”¢  Opponent (Rapid City - who?!)

”¢  Football Problems (players/coaches used)

”¢  Pacing (no commercial? really, Nolan?!)

”¢  Crowd reaction (where's all the drunks?!)

”¢  Time (much like the complaint about the NYC shoot)

”¢  No resolution (where's they all go?!)

And ESPN is quick to note that the football scene was featured heavily in all the trailers, but not so in the movie, much to their dissatisfaction.

Oh yeah.  ESPN is owned by Disney, owner of Marvel Studios. Avengers assemble!

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra's al Ghul.
