Ender's Game Movie On The Way - Finally? Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci Script
Screenrant reports that we may be seeing a movie adaption of Orson Scott Card's popular sci-fi novel, "Ender's Game."
Apparently, the screenwriters behind Star Trek and both Transformer's movies, Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, are shopping around a script.
Furthermore, the director on X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Gavin Hood, is assisting in getting the script sold, as well. Hood has been connected to an "Ender's Game" movie before with word that Orson Scott Card submitted his own to Odd Lot Entertainment in 2009, and then last year Hood was named as director and screenwriter. Actually, Orson Scott Card came up with a script in 2003, but due to differences with "Hollywood" it never came to fruition.
This is the first time that Kurtzman and Orci have been associated. As Screenrant notes, the duo may be cleaning up or modifying Hood's original screenplay version.
Robert Orci, actually tweeted about the new "Ender's Game" script with:
Ender's Game! Us(K/O), Oddlot, and Gavin Hood taking his amazing script to the town! Who wants some?
Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci are also the writers behind the new Hawaii 5-0, Fringe and the upcoming Star Trek 2.
In related news, Marvel Comics gears up for their own adaption of the "Ender's Game" prequel, "Formic Wars: Burning Earth #1," from writer Aaron Johnston that is available on February 16th, 2011.
The novel "Ender's Game" sees the Earth confronted by an alien race known as The Formics (the Buggers) that decimate humanity. In turn, mankind forms a space station "Battle School" to train recruits from an early age. As the recruits pass tests and are deemed worthy enough, they graduate to become officers in the war.
