ECCC: Bendis: Does Go Cosmic on Avengers 12.1 with Spaceknight arc
Now, while answering a fan's question, at the ECCC, in regards to Rom the Spaceknight returning to Marvel, Bendis mentions "Space Knight."
The writer actually answered a fan's question seriously (if CBR's article is to be taken literally). Here it is:
The audience howled with laughter as the attendee that followed made a plea which seems to come with every comic convention – will the licensed character Rom ever be seen in a Marvel comic again?
Bendis was the panelist who would also tackle this, albeit a bit more seriously than the previous inquiry. "I'll tell you this: In 'Avengers' #12.1 drawn by Bryan Hitch -- it's almost double-sized for $2.99 coming out in April… Space Knight." Fans looked at one another in a surprised fashion, but the architect wouldn't expand on that answer.
The solicit for Avengers #12.1 reads:
Prepare for the upcoming high-stakes Avengers event with a battle between the Avengers and the Intelligencia, the return of SWORD, and the disappearance of Spider-Woman!. Bendis and modern master Bryan Hitch Join forces for this very special, all-new Avengers story that is not only an explosive action-packed self-contained thriller but a prologue to an Avengers saga that will rock the entire Marvel Universe next year. Guest starring the New and Secret Avengers!
Of course, the Spaceknights are currently battling along side, what fans dub "The Cosmic Avengers," in Abnett and Lanning's The Annihilators which debuted this week.
Will Bendis be bridging the gap between Marvel Cosmic and Marvel Earth, bringing The Annihilators into his "Avengers saga that will rock the entire Marvel Universe next year?"
