Dwayne Johnson's Hercules Movie Gets A Release Date

Body

Announced back in November, the upcoming Radical Comics adapted Hercules: The Thracian Wars movie starring Dwayne Johnson and directed by Brett Ratner now has a release date of August 14, 2014.

Some info from the previous press release announcing the movie:

Hercules is an original graphic novel written by Steve Moore for Radical Studios. It is an action-filled story based on the popular Ancient Greek mythology of Hercules. The film stars Dwayne Johnson and is directed by Brett Ratner. Hercules will be produced by Radical President Barry Levine, Beau Flynn and Brett Ratner. Peter Berg, Sarah Aubrey, and Radical EVP Jesse Berger will executive produce. The screenplay was adapted by Ryan Condal with script revisions by Evan Spiliotopoulos. Production is scheduled to start in early 2013.

With a description for the Thracian Wars graphic novel:

When the Thracian King Cotys summons the Greek hero Hercules and his six battle-worn companions to mold the Thracian army into a bloodthirsty, ruthless killing machine, the Son of Zeus rushes to answer the call of war and gold. But within the nation of Thrace lies an epic tale of war, murder, deception, and sacrifice that shows Hercules how far from grace he’s fallen… and what he must do to earn redemption.
