Doctor Who: "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship" Preview Trailer (Season 7 Episode 2)

Warning: Spoilers for "Asylum of the Daleks."

Quite a first episode we had.

I had to take a second look at make sure that was indeed Jenna Louise Coleman — the new companion!

Actually, my son told me it was, but I was like, "No, she doesn't appear until the Christmas episode," — but he was right!

What a twist!

I haven't been following the spoilers for this season that closely, but I don't recall anything coming across the inter-waves stating she was going to appear.

Loved it!

Clara Oswin's appearance brings with it a lot of questions. Obviously, Clara first meets the Doctor in his future timeline (a la Riversong, which Darren mentioned in his review). So the Doctor knows what becomes of her before she does, but he can't tell her?! Blimey! Update: Could be she's a relative of Clara. Doh! Moffat got me again.

What the first episode succeeded in doing was creating hype for the new companion — it definitely worked! And also, I think, it kind of began the good-bye to Rory and Amy, which I'm fine with, to be honest.

Anyway, on to the next episode, which the BBC has released a preview for, "Dinosaurs on a Spaceship."

Doctor Who airs Saturday at 9pm ET on BBCA.
