Doctor Who 50th Anniversary Will Have David Tennant and Billie Piper Return

We get some cool Doctor Who news right before the show is set to return tonight as we learn that David Tennant and Billie Piper will return for the 50th Anniversary special.

The BBC officially announced the return of David Tennant and Billie Piper along with David Hurt to the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special.

David Tennant and Billie Piper will join current Doctor and companion, Matt Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman, while John Hurt (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Alien, Harry Potter) will also co-star.

It's been long rumored that one of the most popular Doctors would be returning with David Tennant teasing in interviews and such.

Last time we saw David Tennant and Billie Piper in Doctor Who was back in January 2010 with "The End Of Time"; Tennant first appeared in the 2005 series finale, "The Parting Ways."

Filming on the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary special begins this week, which is written by Steven Moffat and Directed by Nick Hurran.
