Disney CEO Bob Iger Says Star Wars Originals Not Signed; Confirms Talks

6072 Recently, George Lucas came out and said that the original Star Wars actors were practically signed on before the Disney deal went through and that an announcement should be more than likely forthcoming.

There have also been previous rumors about Harrison Ford returning as well as the reps of Carrie Fisher recanting her own confirmation.

Billy Dee Williams has even been reported to have said that he has been asked to return.

Now we hear from Disney CEO Bob Iger who says that no decision has been made as of yet.

"George Lucas was quoted as saying that they would, but we haven't made an official announcement yet," Iger told CNBC.

Bob Iger went on to mention that J.J. Abrams was directing with Michael Arndt writing, and that when they were ready they would announce the news.

"When the story is quote/unquote broken, then we'll make decisions about the cast and we'll move from there," Iger said.

Iger also confirms that there have been discussions with the actors when asked.

"Yes, there have been discussions already," he said.

Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date directed by J.J. Abrams.
