Deadpool Movie Hurdles Removed; Closer To Getting Green Lit
Fans have been waiting and waiting for a Deadpool movie and finally it looks to be a go, or at least more so than it's been in recent years.
Everything seems to have come together for the Merc With The Mouth as we get word that the script is completed, a director and actor are attached, and Fox seems to be onboard as well.
Tim Miller is attached to direct the Deadpool movie and recently let the following be known:
We've turned in an amazing script and done some early tests and visual development that--I'm confident--would get the fans stoked. And Ryan still loves the project. So it's really up to Fox as to whether or not the film happens--all I can do is hope (and beg periodically) that it be allowed to move ahead.
Regarding Miller's stating that "it's really up to Fox," that hurtle apparently has been cleared as Deadpool creator Rob Liefeld let it be known through his Twitter that he has been in discussion with Fox Studios' new creative consultant, Mark Millar.
I assure you, as Deadpool's daddy that me, Tim Miller and @mrmarkmillar have huddled on all things Deadpool. We will storm the castle!!
In addition, Liefeld tweets that Deadpool's biggest blockade at Fox has been removed as well.
The single biggest blockade(blockhead?) is gone. Mr. Tom Rothman has been removed from Fox. Not a friend of Deadpool's.
A couple more tweets follow revealing Liefeld's excitement for not only the movie, but the upcoming Deadpool video game that Liefeld says will help get things moving.
I've said it again, if the Deadpool test footage was seen, leaked, the Internet would freak and riots would ensue. Bloody PERFECT.
I think the success of the Deadpool game will help immensely and get the Deadpool film a green light. It's going to be HUGE
