Deadpool, Gambit & Mystique X-Men Spinoff Movies Being Looked At

Fox Studios is looking to expand their X-Men presence with additional spinoff movies.

Currently, only Hugh Jackman and Wolverine have been featured as solo movies as part of the X-Men franchise.

Now X-Men producer Lauren Shuler Donner says that Fox Studios is finally on board with the possibility of spinoffs as she mentions Deadpool and Gambit.

"There was a regime [at the studio] that didn’t see the worth in [spin-offs], and the current people who run Fox understand, embrace it, and we’re going to do right by it,” Donner told EW. “I’d like to do Gambit. I’d like to do Deadpool. We’ll see. There’s a lot of really great characters.”

Donner continues with mention of Jennifer Lawrence and Mystique.

"I love what Jen Lawrence has done with her, and I feel like because she is in such a crowded ensemble, there’s so much more opportunity if you were to follow her solo," Donner said.

As it stands, Fox has X-Men: Days of Future Past coming out next month with movies for X-Men: Apocalypse (more a sequel to First Class) and a sequel to The Wolverine in the works.

There has been mention of an X-Force movie, but for some reason news seems to have dried up as of late.

Deadpool has also been previously mentioned, with it stated that Fox wasn't happy with it being R-rated and didn't want to go with an R-rated superhero movie.

We've also previously heard about a Gambit movie with Donner mentioning possibly Channing Tatum could be involved.
