picLooks like the speculation about DC renumbering is correct, as the DC Comics blog The Source announced the renumbering of all super hero titles -- with 52 first issues.

In addition, The Source also announced that they all will be made available digitally day-and-date (meaning at the same time they are sold in local comic shops).

Hold on, we are not done yet!

It was also announced that superstar writer Geoff Johns and superstar artist Jim Lee will be on the first book to be renumbered - Justice League #1 (droppin' the 'America' I take it?).

Justice League #1 will ship the last week of August (31st) and be one of only two that DC puts out that week; the other being Flashpoint #5.

Dang, this is big news!

USA Today published the first interview on the new Justice League with Johns and Dan DiDio, co-publisher.

Johns stated he wants to explore "the human aspect behind all these costumes," with DiDio adding "We really want to inject new life in our characters and line."

"New Life?"

Yep. Read on...

"This was a chance to start, not at the beginning, but at a point where our characters are younger and the stories are being told for today's audience," said DiDio.

Can't wait to see Marvel's reaction to this. Lee and Johns on Justice League. Avengers wha-?!
