Dawn of the Planet of the Apes Gets Judy Greer As Chimp Cornelia
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a recent cast addition with Judy Greer who will be playing the chimp, Cornelia.
We learn that the role of Cornelia, which was played by dancer Devyn Dalton in the first movie and was a budding love interest for Casear, will be expanded in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes.
Judy Greer confirmed the new to Vulture.
"For so long I haven't been able to say anything about it, so this is exciting!" she said.
Greer's husband is a huge Apes fan, with the actress offering that once filming begins she won't be able to say anything and that her husband doesn't want to know.
"It's gonna be fun to have some secrets, but I have to be oh-so-careful. I'm not supposed to say anything to anyone, so once I start shooting, I won't be able to talk to anybody!" she said. "It's funny, because when I talk to my husband about the movie, he's like, 'I don't want to know! I do want to know! Do you think you should tell me? Don't tell me!'"
Jude Greer is known for roles in The Descendants and Arrested Development.
Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a May 23, 2014 release date directed by Matt Reeves and stars Gary Oldman, Kerri Russell, Jason Clarke, Kodi-Smit McPhee and Andy Serkis.
A group of scientists in San Francisco struggle to stay alive in the aftermath of a plague that is wiping out humanity, while Caesar tries to maintain dominance over his community of intelligent apes.
