Back last September it became known that NBC had picked up a Constantine TV series.

Now it's learned from Deadline that NBC has ordered a pilot.

The new Constantine TV series will be put together by The Mentalist executive producer Daniel Cerone and Man of Steel and Batman Vs. Superman writer David S. Goyer.

The series is described as centering on John Constantine, an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond.

Comic book fans will note that Constantine is a member of the Justice League: Dark, which has a movie in development. Last Guillermo del Toro updated in regards to that is that the JLD movie and the Constantine TV series would both move forward alongside one another.

Other WB/DC TV news today includes that Batman and the Batman villains will be featured in the Fox Gotham series.

Goyer is also behind the Starz original series, Da Vinci's Demons, so Constantine should be pretty good.
