David Goyer Reveals "Man of Steel" Comic Book Inspirations: Byrne, Moore, Swan, Johns, Morrison

7209 David Goyer wrote the upcoming new Superman movie, Man of Steel, that stars Henry Cavill and Michael Shannon, directed by Zack Snyder.

He also wrote The Dark Knight Trilogy, which of course had certain inspirations from the DC comic books.

In a QnA over at Reddit, Goyer offers what comic books inspired the Man of Steel.

Byrne's Krypton was definitely an influence, but not the only influence. Was also influenced by Alan Moore's stuff. All Star Superman. Geoff Johns' stuff. Even the old Curt Swan stuff.

For fans wondering why the recent trailer included different elements than the Richard Donner classics, you might want to pick up the above mentioned books from said authors.

Man of Steel opens June 14th in IMAX 3D.
