Daredevil Movie Rights Revert Back To Marvel Studios & Disney
If you remember not too long ago Fox was attempting to get a new Daredevil movie off the ground floor in order to retain the rights to the character.
It was then said that Marvel Studios tried to trade away an extension of the rights to Daredevil in exchange for the rights to the Silver Surfer and Galactus, presumably to use in the upcoming James Gunn Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
The trade details all could have been rumor, but regardless, the movie rights to Daredevil have now reverted to Marvel Studios.
Newsarama flat out asked Marvel Studios president and producer Kevin Feige if the rights had reverted back.
"To Daredevil? Yes," he confirmed.
Nothing else is mentioned, but perhaps we'll see Matt Murdock some time down the line. The Avengers 2?
It's assumed Fox wanted to keep hold of the Silver Surfer and Galactus because of the upcoming Josh Trank Fantastic Four reboot.
The Avengers 2 assembles May 1, 2015 with Iron Man 3 on May 3, 2013, Thor: The Dark World on November 8, 2013, Captain America: Winter Soldier on April 4, 2014, the Guardians of the Galaxy movie on August 1, 2014 and Ant-Man on November 6, 2015..
