Add one more DC Entertainment series to the list of TV shows that are going forward as the CW has announced a pilot for iZombie.

First announced back in November, Variety now reports iZombie will get an initial pilot from Veronica Mars writers Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero, with Thomas, Ruggiero and Warner Bros. TV’s Danielle Stokdyk and Dan Etheridge serving as executive producers as well.

Assuming CW likes what they see with the pilot, a full season looks likely.

The new iZombie series is based on the comic book from Chris Roberson and Mike Allred which is described as a supernatural crime procedural that centers on a med student-turned-zombie who takes a job in the coroner’s office to gain access to the brains she must reluctantly eat to maintain her humanity. With each brain she consumes, she inherits the corpse’s memories, and with the help of her medical examiner boss and a police detective, she solves homicide cases in order to quiet the disturbing voices in her head.

iZombie joins HourmanThe Flash and Arrow on the CW, as well as Gotham on Fox and Constantine on NBC.
