Last week, NBC greenlit a pilot for David Goyer's new Constantine series, and now an NBC executive offers his take on the show.

IGN caught up with NBC chairman Robert Greenblatt who offered Constantine has "dark, interesting stuff in it, but it’s also got some witty banter," as well as adding, "it’s a fun tone, although the supernatural stuff is scary.”

David Goyer is executive producing Constantine along with The Mentalist's Daniel Cerone.

The series is described as centering on John Constantine, an enigmatic and irreverent con man-turned-reluctant supernatural detective who is thrust into the role of defending us against dark forces from beyond.
