With director Ruper Wyatt's exit from the sequel to the Rise of the Planet of the Apes, more details about Dawn of the Planet of the Apes have become known.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will be directed by Matt Reeves, known for the found-footage horror sci-fi movie Cloverfield.

In addition to a new director, the script will be getting a re-write as well from Mark Bomback, who wrote Die Hard 5, the new Total Recall, Unstoppable and The Wolverine.

If those movies are anything to go by, it seems as if Dawn of the Planet of the Apes will see a lot of -- monkeying around. Sorry, couldn't resist that one, but what I mean is lots of action.

Andy Serkis will also be returning to portray Ceasar as well.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes has a May 23, 2014 release.
