Christopher Eccleston Not Returning For Doctor Who 50th Anniversary?
It seems the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary might be a Doctor short as it's being reported that Christopher Eccleston is not returning for the special.
The UK's ExpressandStar actually quotes a BBC spokesperson that said Christopher Eccleston has decided not to return.
Chris met with Steven Moffat a couple of times to talk about Steven's plans for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary episode. After careful thought, Chris decided not to be in the episode. He wishes the team all the best.
The news comes after the confirmation that David Tennant will be returning for the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary along with Billie Piper, who played the companion to both Tennant and Eccleston, with Rose Tyler.
It's stated that Christopher Eccleston might show in one form as it's rumored that they will use old footage of the actor from his past Doctor Who episodes.
Bear in mind this could be another UK tabloid site, so we'll have to wait for official confirmation from Steven Moffat or the BBC.
Christopher Eccleston can next be seen in Thor 2, "The Dark World," as the villain Malekith, leader of the Dark Elves.
