Christian Bale Talks Fourth Batman Movie; But Not Starring Him
*Spoilers below for The Dark Knight Rises*
With Christopher Nolan's last Batman film out in theaters with The Dark Knight Rises, fans are certainly wondering what the "fourth" or next Batman film will be.
While it definitely will not feature Nolan and Christian Bale, the Batman actor recently discussed the next chapter with MTV.
Bale was asked his thoughts on another actor - or Joseph Gordon-Levitt - donning the Bat suit.
"I'm very intrigued to see another interpretation of it at this point," Bale told MTV.
Bale continued, giving props to Adam West.
"There have been many wonderful ones. Adam West did it fantastically, spoofing it. I'm sincere. He really did," Bale said.
Bale then went on to note how Nolan's films returned to "the dark" much like how original Batman creator Bob Kane intended, and stated he would be very interested in seeing what comes next.
"So it would be very interesting to see what someone else does with the character. I'd be the first one there to watch," Bale said.
MTV then asks Bale about the fact that he said Robin would never be in the movie, with Bale laughing and responding, "I was talking out of turn somewhat, regardless of what my wishes would have been. It was not my choice and never was. Well, we can't give away too much."
The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20th, 2012 and is directed by Christopher Nolan starring Christian Bale as Batman, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon, Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox, Michael Cain as Alfred, Juno Temple and Josh Pence as a young Ra's al Ghul.
