Chris Evans previously said in an interview that he wants to focus more on directing, which would mean acting would take a back seat.

Various sites ran with it stating Evans is giving up acting and playing Captain America. Actually they went with it twice as the interview was ran two times: one with the short blurb, and then the full interview.

Now Evans, for the second time, clears up the confusion and says he isn't going anywhere, just that he would indeed like to direct more.

"By no means am I planning on retiring. It's a silly statement," he said in the below video.

Evans also stated the following a couple weeks ago:

"I may kind of stick with my Marvel universe in terms of getting in front of the camera, and then getting behind the camera outside of it."

Chris Evans can be seen in Captain America: The First Avengers this Friday and The Avengers 2 on May 1, 2015.
