Charlie Cox Is Reading Daredevil Comics; Much Darker Than Anything At Marvel
The new Man Without Fear, Charlie Cox, mentions that he has been reading a ton of Marvel comic books preparing for the role of Daredevil for the upcoming Netflix series.
Cox also gives some good news in that the Daredevil Netflix series will be darker than anything previously seen by Marvel (via THR).
"I've read comics after comics after comics — I've never read so many comics in my life — and we're finding moments from the comics to reference in the show. We're trying to make a show that's new and much, much darker than anything I've ever seen Marvel do before."
Cox also gave a hint as to what is driving Matt Murdock to be the Daredevil.
"The concept that he can't stop. He's going out, and he's taking the law into his own hands, and he doesn't know if he can stop. He might be addicted to it."
Daredevil will be released in 2015 featuring 13 episodes starring Charlie Cox (Matt Murdock / Daredevil), Rosario Dawson (Claire Temple), Vincent D’Onofrio (WilsonFisk), Deborah Ann Woll (Karen Page), Elden Henson (Foggy Nelson), Scott Glenn (Stick), Bob Gunton (Leland Owlsley), Toby Leonard Moore (Wesley), Vondie Curtis Hall (Ben Urich)and Ayelet Zurer (Vanessa Marianna).
Blinded as a young boy but imbued with extraordinary senses, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) fights against injustice by day as a lawyer, and by night as the Super Hero “Daredevil” in modern day Hell's Kitchen, New York City.
