Boba Fett Star Wars Retcon Rumored; George Lucas Out Of The Picture?

A new rumor surrounding a Boba Fett spinoff movie hits the net today suggest a major major retcon to the character.

Or maybe a rectcon of an earlier retcon?

It's said that Lawrence Kasdan, writer of Empire Strikes Back, is thinking of including a major twist in the Boba Fett movie which would eliminate the connection to the Star Wars prequel movies that saw Boba Fett as a clone of Jango Fett.

Latino Review has it from a source that Kasdan was never hip with making Boba Fett a clone, and he wants to change things by having someone else don the armor. According to the report, someone else would kill Boba Fett and take the armor and identity early in the character's history.

While this may sound a tad bit farfetched, two positives that could be looked at include: 1) It would move away from the unpopular prequels, and 2) They could use any actor they want. Obviously if Boba Fett is a clone, the actor would have to resemble in part the original Jango Fett actor, Temuera Morrison.

Perhaps the bigger story, however, is that this report and a previous report that stated Star Wars: Episode VII will move away from the next generation of Star Wars characters in favor of the originals suggests Disney moving away from George Lucas' vision. The previous report mentioned that George Lucas had reluctantly accepted the new direction.

Whether that is a good thing or a bad thing, you can decide for yourself.
