Billy Dee Williams Confirms In Talks For New Star Wars As Lando Calrissian

6062 We can add a fourth to the list of original returning characters in talks to come back for Star Wars Episode VII.

Joining Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher is Billy Dee Williams, who played Lando Calrissian.

FilmBuffOnline reports that Billy Dee Williams has stated he has been asked to return, but hasn't made a decision as of yet.

George Lucas recently came out and stated that the originals were basically cast before the Disney deal and seemed to imply an official announcement would be forthcoming, but Disney was waiting on doing some kind of spectacle surrounding it.

The character of Lando Calrissian first appeared in Empire Strikes Back as a long time friend of Han Solo as Solo; however, due to pressures put on him by the Empire, Calrissian had to betray Solo, giving him up to the bounty hunter, Boba Fett. Eventually, Lando helps the rebels escape his Cloud City and joins the Rebellion.

Star Wars Episode VII has a 2015 release date directed by J.J. Abrams.
