Bendis Brags More People Are Reading Guardians of the Galaxy Then When DnA Were Onboard
I think I need another hand to count the number of times that Bendis has opened his mouth and inserted a foot.
This time he actually has the gall to state that there are more people reading his Guardians than DnA's.
Of course we know that DnA didn't have 17 #1 covers with Steve McNiven.
Oh, but McNiven is already off the book?
Speaking to Newsarama, Bendis says:
Not to be braggalicious, but there's a lot more people reading it now than were reading it then, so I kind of want to introduce them to the idea that he [Star-Lord] was gone — people don't know it, so I'm going to tell them. Making it more of a mystery is a cool way to tease it out. A lot more fun to be had there, at least from a writing perspective.
And if I can just take a moment and thank everyone from the readers to the retailers who took a chance on this book. What an honor. And what a huge relief. Thank you everyone.
Sure thing, Bendis.
For people who want to know, issue #4, Sara's first full issue, we will see the cosmic ramifications of a Tony Stark/Gamora hook-up. I handed it in, and they didn't send it back to me. I thought for sure it was going to be sent back, but it's in there.
I suppose the reason Neil Gaiman is taking over is because Bendis' Guardians is so popular, eh?
