5066 A new series is in the works from the developer/executive producer of the recent re-imagined Battlestar Galactica, Ron Moore, with Helix set for SyFy.

Deadline describes Helix as a dark thriller that sees a group of scientists researching and investigating a disease outbreak who find themselves attempting to protect the world from annihilation.

It's said 13 episodes are being finalized, with the series to begin later this year.

Ron Moore also created the BSG spinoff, Caprica, for SyFy as well, and wrote episodes for the various Star Trek TV series and episodes for George Lucas' Star Wars television show, which Disney and ABC are looking at.

Moore also has a number of other projects in the works, reportedly with Starz (Outlander) and ABC (Knight's Tale adaptation).
